The personnel at Clever Marine Services have worked for the past six years as the Technical Management team of a medium sized ship owning/managing company which operated up to eight general cargo and container vessels. These vessels were aged between 10 & 25 years and operated in remote locations such as the West African coast, South America and the Pacific Islands.
During this time the team carried out the following services/tasks:
- Creating and implementing of ISM system (SMM)
- Creating and implementing of Ships Security Plan (SSP)
- Creating and Implementing of Planned Maintenance systems (own system on MS Excel basis)
- Preparing and carrying out of scheduled routine dry docking's
- Preparing and carrying out of emergency dry docking's
- Planning, preparation and execution of ship conversions (container to MPC bulker)
- Planning and execution of in water repairs also by means of cofferdam
- Pre purchase surveys
- Condition surveys
- Upgrading of sub standard vessels by use of riding squads and temporary expert personnel
- Supervision of new builds
- Liaison with insurance and casualty recovery
- Hot and Cold lay up

In addition to the Superintendents/supervision services that CMS is offering, we also have a pool of experienced specialists in areas such as:
- Welders/Fitters for any kind of steel exchange with ship yard experience
- Engine fitters with ship yard experience
- Electronic Engineers & Electricians with ship yard experience
- Tank cleaners and painters (grit blasting) with ship yard experience
- Engineers for Diesel, mechanical, fuel preparation & hydraulic systems
Sub Contractors
With 25 years of experience in the Marine field the team at CMS have established long term relationships with many other suppliers and service providers. We are therefore able to offer package deals, on a case to case basis, from supply of material to completion of project. With our trusted long term partners we can provide Sub Contractors with the following fields of expertise:
- Hydraulic Engineering, crane, steering gear, hatch cover hydraulics
- Design tasks (ship conversion, re-designing of particular parts)
- Electronic services, ships automation, cranes
- Spare parts supply for MAK, Wartsila, Westfalia, MAN B&W, Ships automation, steel material and stores

Insurance Surveys and Owners Representation
In addition to the Survey Services we are now also able to offer Surveys and Owners representation in Insurance cases. Capt. Sven Fromm was accepted as full member of the International Institute of Marine Surveying in December 2009 and therefore can act on behalf of Owners / Underwriters in below specified disputes or insurance cases:
- Collision, grounding and other vessels accidents involving structural and engine damages
- Cargo damages / disputes
- Damages to Cargo gear
- Vessel Condition Surveys for P&I purposes (with confirmation of the relevant Club)
- Regress Cases with Service providers and Ship repairers
- Please request any Survey and we will do our outmost to provide the requested expertise
Charges:
Each travel or standby day of 12 hours: $700.00 any none complete day charged pro-rata
Each working / surveying day of 12 hours: $1000.00 any none complete day charged pro-rata
